WALTHAM, MA — You don't have to go far in Waltham to find someone who's life has been affected by drugs, whether it's a family member, friend or co-worker. But Waltham Overcoming Addiction group is working to help community members get the right resources into their hands so they can overcome the disease.
This weekend's Recovery Fest is one of those ways. It's slated for Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the common. What can you expect? It's not a stuffy event, folks. Look for bounce houses, graffiti art, speakers, food, music, as well as key resources.
Waltham Overcoming Addiction is grassroots volunteer coalition addressing Heroin Addiction, Recovery Support and Community Outreach and Awareness to put an end to the current opiate epidemic.

Another thing to keep on your radar? Waltham Overcoming Addiction’s annual awareness event fundraiser this fall is geared toward raising enough money to be able to scholarship as many as 10 people who are currently uninsured or underinsured into a long term treatment.
Each month Waltham Overcoming Addiction also sponsors a resource night where anyone looking for ways to get help for a loved one or them self can come and get information.
