Adeline 'Lynn' Gatti, Longtime Waltham Resident, Dies at 66

Gatti died Sunday, Feb. 23.

Mrs. Adeline M. 'Lynn' (Bastarache) Gatti, of Waltham, died in her home on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 with her family by her side. She was 66.

Lynn was born on Aug. 10, 1947 in New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of the late Denis and Elise Bastarache. In 1963, she moved to Waltham and shortly thereafter graduated from Waltham High School. She married Lawrence S. Gatti on Feb. 3, 1968 and the couple spent 47 happy years together.

She was sweet, loving and very spiritual. For over 35 years she volunteered at the Espousal Retreat Center in Waltham where she assisted in many areas including marriage preparation, prayer meetings and retreat planning. She loved spending time with her family and Saturday nights were reserved for dinner out on the town.

Besides her husband, Lawrence S. Gatti, she leaves her children, Lawrence A. Gatti of W. Dennis, Mark J. Gatti of Waltham and Amy L. Davis and her husband, Michael, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Jordyn, Olivia and Ryan Davis; her siblings, Sam Bastarache and his wife, Felixine, Willie Bastarache and his wife, Pauline, Denis Bastarache, Ronny Bastarache and his wife, Theresa, Alex Bastarache and his wife, Bernadette, Irene LeBlanc and her husband, Alde, Claudette Bastarache, Annette Gallant and Marie Bastarache; her sister-in-law, Irma Bastarache, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Livail Bastarache.

Family and friends will honor and remember Lynn's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Route 20), Waltham, on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 4-8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday in The Espousal Center Chapel, 554 Lexington St., Waltham, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
