WALTHAM, MA — A Cuban restaurant with a Waltham location is launching weekend brunches, and just in time for Mother’s Day.
Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar will serve up brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., beginning this weekend, a news release said.
The restaurant will offer “traditional brunch staples through a distinctly Cuban lens,” according to the release. Among the specialties: Cuban-style grits with grilled shrimp, crispy quinoa and sunny-side-up eggs. There also will be a Cuban-style fried chicken served atop a waffle, with spicy guava syrup.
Gustazo’s two locations are owned and operated by Patricia Estorino, who launched the business in 2011 with her husband, Adolfo.
Born and raised in Cuba, she’s been nominated as a “best chef in the Northeast” semifinalist twice by the James Beard Foundation.
Gustazo takes its name from a Spanish phrase meaning “great pleasure” or treating oneself to something special.
The Waltham restaurant is at 240 Moody St., and more information is available here.
