With more than $40,000 expected to be distributed, the council is prioritizing projects that make arts accessible to all Waltham residents, and applications are open through October 15 via the state portal.

โข Patriots Robert Kraft owner is putting $10 million into Jewish life at Brandeis (fortune.com subscription) โ Brandeis University in Waltham is getting a new 28,000โsquareโfoot Robert K. Kraft Family Center for Jewish Life and Leadership, funded by a $10 million gift from Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Planned to open in spring 2028, the center will house Hillel, study spaces, and flexible event areas open to all students. The donation honors Kraft's late wife, Brandeis alumna Myra Kraft, and deepens the family's long-running support for the university.

City councilor says they are "as popular as measles" (cbsnews.com) โ Waltham officials have ordered controversial Flock license-plate cameras covered with trash bags after residents and councilors raised strong privacy concerns. City leaders say the cameras were installed and later bagged without council approval, and they're now pushing for a formal surveillance privacy policy as the city moves toward ending its contract with the vendor.
