Asia Wok in Waltham Closed After Fire: Report

A fire at the Main Street eatery burned for close to three hours Thursday night, causing $20,000 in damage.

WALTHAM, MA – The Asia Wok on Waltham's Main Street caught fire Thursday night, burning for nearly three hours and resulting in tens of thousands of dollars in damage.

According to the Waltham News Tribune, the fire began at 8:12 p.m. Thursday at the Asia Wok at 573 Main St. Emergency crews battled the fire for about three hours before knocking it down at 11 p.m., according to the report.

One firefighter sustained a minor injury but was able to remain on call; in all, the blaze resulted in about $20,000 in damage, the News Tribune reported.

Asia Wok will remain closed until repairs are made to the building and city officials permit it to resume serving food, Waltham assistant director of public health Michelle Feeley told the News Tribune.
