Belmont Man Gets Life for Murder of Waltham Teen
Domingo Mendes, 24, was sentenced Thursday in the 2014 shooting death of Tyler Zanco.

WALTHAM, MA – A Belmont man convicted of second degree murder last month in the shooting death of 17-year-old Tyler Zanco was sentenced to life in prison Thursday.
Domingo Mendes, 24, was found guilty in the March 2014 killing. Zanco died after sustaining a single gunshot wound to the back, fired by Mendes after an alleged altercation between Zanco and and an acquaintance of Mendes'.
Mendes was also sentenced on concurrent charges of possession of a firearm without a license, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and conspiracy to distribute a Class D substance.
