Matt Schultz is Troop 250's Newest Eagle Scout. He was in charge and directed all of the work to clear a path, a new trail connecting the Hemlock and Wintergreen Trails at the parking lot at the Robert Treat Paine Estate.
No power tools were allowed , only hand tools and strong backs. Ann Clifford, the Curator of Stonehurst, was there working hard and supporting Matt during his project. There were quite a few invasive plants removed, trees cut back and or removed if they were in danger of falling and massive stumps removed all by hand, all under the direction of Matt.
The Eagle Scout Service Project, or more simply the Eagle Project, is the opportunity for a Boy
Scout to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit
of his community.
