Hill is a Brandeis professor who teaches courses on gender, race, social policy and legal history. In 1991, she testified in front of the Senate about alleged sexual harassment by her former boss, then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas.

Though Thomas was ultimately confirmed, the hearings were viewed by tens of millions at the dawn of the 24-hour news cycle and sparked a national conversation about the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace.
