Bunny Adoptions Free This Weekend at MSPCA
Due to a large population of rabbits at MSPCA's adoption centers, fees are waived this weekend.
Owing to the large and growing population of adoptable rabbits at the MSPCA’s three adoption centers in Boston, Methuen and Centerville on Cape Cod, the organization is waiving the standard $75 rabbit adoption fee on Saturday, Jan. 16, and Sunday, Jan. 17.
“Now is the perfect time to bring home a new rabbit from your local shelter,” said the announcement.
The MSPCA said that unlike bunnies sold at pet stores, rabbits adopted from the shelters will have received a thorough health check and be spayed or neutered to ensure they do not contribute to the ongoing pet overpopulation crisis.
“Rabbits are easy to care for and make perfect first-time pets for families. And they have personalities as distinct as those of cats and dogs. The MSPCA maintains a thorough online rabbit care and adoption resource page to provide would-be adopters with everything they need to know before bringing a rabbit home.
