How you choose to celebrate Halloween this year, whether traditionally, modified, or with a lower risk activity, is up to you. Additionally, the City of Waltham does not designate specific hours for Trick-or-Treating. It is celebrated on Halloween (Sunday, 10/31), but hours are under the discretion of parents to decide.

We encourage all our residents to continue to remain vigilant against the spread of COVID-19, and to follow what best suits them and their families. Check out these helpful safety tips from Massgov to ensure a safe & happy Halloween for all!
With that said, here are a few of the various Halloween events happening around Waltham:

- Sun, 10/24, 1pm – 4pm: Waltham Public Library free Halloween Concert on the front lawn, featuring Toe Jam Puppet Band. Toe Jam will perform twice at 1:30 and 3:30pm. Costumes are welcome but not required.
- Weds, 10/27, 4pm-4:45pm: Waltham Public Library Spooky Science on the front lawn. Recommended ages 4+
- Thurs, 10/28, 4:30pm-5:15pm: Waltham Public Library Scary Skeleton Face Painting via Zoom – Starting Oct. 18th, pick up a face paint kit with everything you’ll need. Recommended age 8+. To access the Zoom link email walthamlibkids@minlib.net
- Sat, 10/30, 12pm-4pm: Free Halloween fun with the Waltham Recreation Department at 510 Moody Street, featuring a bounce house, inflatable slide, glow games, face painting, crafts & more! Costumes welcome.
- Sat, 10/30, 10am-12pm: Halloween Storytime & Costume Parade on the Waltham Library front lawn – Interactive Storytime is good for all ages. After Storytime the fun continues with a costume parade and bubble dance party
- Sat, 10/30, 2pm-6pm: “Trunk or Treat” at Waltham Elks (101 School St)
- Sun, 10/31: Safe Trick-or-Treating – Various neighbors are participating in setting up outdoor tables in front of their homes with pre-made goody bags for kids to participate in physically distanced fun. A map will be shared of all addresses participating once complete. If you are interested in setting up a table and having a map of addresses emailed to you just before Halloween, please fill out this form
