The reason for this change is that the streets are too narrow to allow on-street parking and two-way travel. To be able to maintain emergency response vehicle access, the Traffic Commission voted to keep on-street public parking and convert these two streets to one-way traffic.   1. Liberty Street will be converted from two way to one-way northbound (from Main Street to School Street). On-street parking will still be allowed on the west side of the street, but this will be on the “left” side of the street, rather than the “right” side.
  2. Middle Street will be converted from two way to one-way eastbound (from Spring Street to Common Street). On-street parking will still be allowed on the south side of the street.
