Clarks Opens American Headquarters in Waltham
The British boot company moved into the former Polaroid building at 60 Tower Rd.

WALTHAM, MA – Clarks opened its Americas corporate headquarters at the iconic Polaroid site in Waltham Thursday.
The England-based boot company took over a 120,000-square-foot space at 60 Tower Rd., occupying four stories of prime real estate on the main thoroughfare of Rt. 128. Boston Properties and Clarks were the lead developers of the project, with Boston-based Spagnolo Gisness & Associates, Inc. and ADD, Inc. responsible for the building’s exterior and interior, respectively.
"The revitalization and move into this historic building is a tremendous milestone for our company," said Mike Shearwood, CEO of Clarks, in a statement. "It reinforces our commitment to the Metro Boston area as well as our confidence in this community as we poise ourselves for continued growth in the Americas."

The headquarters will house more than 400 employees in both regional and global departments. Its amenities include amenities such as a roof deck, private outdoor terrace, employee retail store, fitness center, a three-story lobby and more. The building was built with energy efficient and recycled materials and is LEED Gold certified.
“We couldn’t be more excited to open our new headquarters in Waltham,” Gary Champion, president of Clarks Americas, Inc. and a Massachusetts native, said in an announcement. "For over 20 years we have called the Metro Boston area home. This is a vibrant community that offers undeniable talent and resources. Our entire organization has been looking forward to this day, showcasing the very best of this great brand and sharing it with our customers and the surrounding community."

Clarks celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday morning and a donation to the Waltham Boys and Girls Club.
"I am thrilled to welcome the Clarks team to Waltham as the largest tenant at the 1265 Main complex and as a staple to our community," Mayor Jeannette McCarthy said in a statement. "We appreciate the company’s continued dedication to the Boston area, by offering jobs, donating generously to local charities, and bringing continued economic success to our city."
