By participating, you can help them better understand, prevent, and treat adolescent depression. We are inviting healthy female teens between the ages of 13-15 to participate in a research study. Teens can earn up to $594 if they qualify and receive a picture of their&nbsp;brain. Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating how stress may influence mood and brain activity. Teens will answer questions about their thoughts and feelings. Teens will&nbsp;also undergo an fMRI brain scan. Teens will also be asked to fill out very brief surveys on their smartphone and to wear a smartwatch that tracks their heart rate, skin&nbsp;conductance, physical activity (i.e., step count), and sleep patterns. Parent permission is required if under 18 years of age. Dr. Benjamin Remillard will discuss the role of New England’s people of color in the Revolution, what drew them to the Patriot or Loyalist causes, as well as what life was like for them and their communities after the war as the new nation struggled to find its footing.Benjamin Remillard is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Classics at Providence College. He recently received his Ph.D. in History from the University of New Hampshire and his current book project, Friends, Brothers, and Citizens: The Revolutionary War Veterans of Color Who Shaped the Early Republic, explores the lives of the Revolution’s veterans and non-veteran Patriots of color who lived across the Northeast during the early American republic.

We have arranged delivery of professional grade Old Town kayaks directly to the launch site. These are the same boats used by paddling centers across New England — stable, comfortable, and perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike.

You do not need experience. These boats are designed for beginners and the South Natick impoundment is calm flatwater — one of the most beautiful and most canoeable stretches of the entire Charles River according to the Charles River Watershed Association’s own 1973 guide. Bring your own boat if you have one — canoes, kayaks, paddleboards all welcome. The more boats on the water the better.
