Cyclist Sustains Serious Injuries in Waltham Collision

A pickup truck hit the bike rider as it turned off of Trapelo Road onto Pine Vale.

WALTHAM, MA – A bicyclist was seriously injured Wednesday morning when he was struck by a pickup truck in Waltham.

According to Waltham Police, the accident happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Trapelo and Pine Vale roads.

The pickup, driven by a 42-year-old Woburn man, attempted to turn left onto Pine Vale from Trapelo when it collided with the cyclist, police said.

The bicyclist, a 61-year-old man from Carlisle, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries to his legs and head.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
