Danvers Hit With Rash Of Vehicle Break-Ins Over Weekend: Police
Danvers police said nearly all of the vehicles where items were stolen were left unlocked.
DANVERS, MA — Danvers police are looking for residents to help out in cutting down on crime by making sure to lock the doors of unattended vehicles.
Police said there were numerous vehicles broken into over the weekend with nearly all of the ones targeted being ones that were left unlocked.
"Almost all of the vehicles were reportedly UNLOCKED," and apparently exasperated Danvers Police Department posted. "Please do your part to prevent victimization by removing your valuables and locking your doors."

Vehicle thefts are often a crime of opportunity where thieves will try to the doors of multiple cars until they find one that is unlocked an an easy target.
