You’ve been asking. The wonderful wiener dogs are doing well.
And yes, those dachshunds that were removed from a Massachusetts home earlier this week due to squalid conditions will be available for adoption, likely, “in the next few days,” according to MSPCA spokesperson Rob Halpin.

When they were brought in, most of the dogs were underweight, matted and coated in urine and feces. Some 71 Dachshund mix dogs were surrendered to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA)-Angell Memorial from a Massachusetts home on Tuesday.
The MSPCA, in an announcement, said that the dogs, which were males, females and puppies, were underweight, coated in urine and feces, and matted. The conditions of the home were “extremely dirty.” Some dogs were in outside cages, and were not protected from elements.

According to the MSPCA, 60 of the animals taken from 21 Harrington Road, Westminster, were taken to its adoption centers in Boston and Methuen, and the rest will remain at the Westminster facility. MSPCA is looking for adoptive homes for the puppies and dogs.
More on Patch:
Thursday, the MSPCA told Patch that all of the animals, including those sent to Boston, were “doing very well.”
“They’ve got some very easily treated health issues: upper respiratory infections, eye and ear infections, etc.,” said Halpin. “They are issues that are typically when too many animals are housed in cramp and dirty environments.”
All of the dogs will be made available for adoption, likely, in “the next few days,” he said. Adopters must come to the Boston or Methuen adoption centers to apply in person and meet the dogs. All of the pertinent information related to adoption (hours, directions, what to bring, etc.) can be found here.
The investigation is ongoing, and no information has been released regarding potential charges.
