Book Launch: Daniel Everett, author of Language: The Cultural Tool

Renowned linguist and Bentley  University Dean, Daniel Everett has been conducting field work in linguistics and anthropology since 1977. In Language: The Cultural Tool, Everett builds upon and challenges the work of his predecessors Peter Ladefoged and Noam Chomsky with the startling results of a comprehensive study
of indigenous languages in the  Brazilian Amazon.

A powerful re-evaluation of language, Everett's work presents language not as innate universal grammar, but as a tool invented by humans, and asks the question - can language be reinvented, or even lost?

Parking is available directly behind Back Pages in the Crescent Street Lot (no charge after 6 PM).
