Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. Our reputation for excellence is on display each time our students show their work at fashion shows and exhibits throughout the year. With an SFD Certificate in Fashion Design, our alumni have enjoyed fashion careers with Adidas, Coldwater Creek, J. The City of Waltham and the Waltham Celebration Committee are pleased to announce that they will be hosting two events for this year's Fourth of July Celebration.   On Monday, July 4, 2011 from 10:00am-2:00pm at Prospect Hill Park there will be a family event featuring free children's rides, pony rides, animal shows, music, food, drinks, and much more!    That evening at Leary Field, Profile will be performing at 5:30pm followed by fireworks at 9:30pm.   Children's rides will be at Prospect Hill only.   For additional information please contact 781-314-3100.
