Fern Abrams & Joan Garniss

Accomplished soloists and teachers, Ms. Abrams and Ms. Garniss have been performing together since 1987 as the Duo Con Anima, both piano/four hands and two pianos.  They have played in a number of area communities, in Maine and Connecticut, and participated in the Steinway Interactive Concert Series at M. Steinert & Sons. Abrams and Garniss worked as a team for ten years with Anthony di Bonaventura at the Colby Piano Institute.  Duo Con Anima are regular performers in the First Parish on the Green, Lexington, Concert Series and in the Friends of the Waltham Public Library program series. 

In 2001 they released their first CD "En blanc et noir" on the HiRoc label.  On the disc: En blanc et noir, Debussy; Variations on Balkan Themes, Beach; Symphonic Dances from "West Side Story", Bernstein (trans. by Joan Garniss); and "Venus" and "Jupiter" from The Planets, Holst.
