Farm to School Conversations

Join school personnel, parents, community groups, farmers, and students to discuss existing farm to school efforts in Metrowest school districts. At least four districts will present their programs involving composting, gardening, parent/student education, and procurement of farm-fresh food. Special attention will be paid to the obstacles and challenges inherent in the farm to school program, and how communities have overcome them. Resource sharing and Q&A will follow one hour of presentations.

The second conversation on November 21st will focus on the issues of "supply and demand" of local food in cafeterias, and will engage farmers, school finance directors and food service directors in networking and coalition building.  These events are free and open to the public.
Sponsored by Land's Sake, the Metrowest Foundation, Weston Schools, and the Massachusetts Farm to School Project.
