MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION MEDITATION To be offered at Waltham YMCA
Free Introductory Session Friday, 9/7: 7:15-7:45 pm - with Laura C. Arena(Upper Studio)
Learn how to take better care of yourself when dealing with stress or difficult moments, while finding how to maintain greater balance, and engagement in your life, regardless of outside demands. As more and more studies are showing the benefits of gentle yoga and meditation for stress reduction and wellness, mind body practices are becoming prevalent and mainstream.
This program is based on systematic and intensive training in mindfulness meditation and gentle mindful hatha yoga, adaptable for everyone. The curriculum, based on the MBSR program developed By Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in the Stress Reduction Clinic at U Mass Medical Center over the course of three decades, is designed to teach program participants how to integrate and apply mindfulness in their everyday lives with the wide range of challenges that life presents.

The class is taught by Laura Carmen Arena, Ed.M., M.T.S., RYT 200. Ms. Arena is an experienced educator, gentle yoga teacher and mind body instructor who has studied meditation in various traditions and has advanced training in teaching the Mind Body Stress Reduction Program from the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at U Mass Medical Center, where the MBSR program was developed.
The MBSR-based course will run during the 8 weeks of the Fall 2012 Program Session, September 14 - October 26

The 30 minute introductory session on September 7 is FREE
8 week Course Fee is $145 members; $295 for non-members (Fridays, Sept. 14 to Oct. 26: 7:10-8:40 pm)
