Ordinary Mind, Ordinary Day

A new work adapted from the short stories of Virginia Woolf
By Adrianne Krstansky and Abigail Killeen
Directed by Adrianne Krstansky and Eve Kagan
February 16-19
Laurie Theater, Spingold Theater Center

Experience Virginia Woolf's darkly elegant voice through an original stage adaptation of four compelling short stories. Follow her fascinating characters in a quest beyond fact and reason to the rich inner life beneath the routines of our days. These are simple stories in terms of events - a ride on a train, listening to a concert, a walk in a garden. This piece examines how the imagination is sparked by the everyday, and how we use our imaginations to bring meaning, drama, color and passion to the ordinary occurrences of life.

Krstansky seeks to discover how we create theater that brings to life not only the outside world but also the internal experience of a moment - a moment that may recall a catastrophic memory, a passionate longing, a forbidden question, a hidden truth.
