Party with a Purpose! Join Team Takacs at The New Landing to raise money for PurpleStride Boston.
Acton resident Jim Takacs was diagnosed 10 days after his 47th birthday in 2008 with stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer. Like 75% of the patients diagnosed with this disease, he lived only 6 ½ months. Pancreatic cancer is the only major cancer with a 5 year survival rate still in the single digits -- only 6% live 5 years! Jim’s wife and daughters are committed to raising awareness and research funds to fight this disease that has had no advances in 40 years. Join them and their supporters for an evening of good food, entertainment, and raffle prizes galore! Everyone is welcome and all proceeds go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
PurpleStride Boston will be held at the Franklin Park Zoo on the morning of September 10, 2011. To learn more, to register a team, or to donate to Team Takacs, visit www.purplestride.org.
