Play Ball: A History of Baseball

 Featuring David L. Smith

President of the Civil War Round Table of Greater Boston, Smith takes the audience to the very beginnings of our "national pastime," exploring myths, facts, and the many changes baseball has undergone.  In this Civil War anniversary year, Smith will emphasize the darmatic impact the sport had on the country during the war.

Uniformed members of the Essex Base Ball Club will assist Smith in showing how various aspects of the game have changed over the past 150 years.
