Waltham Farmers’ Market Spring Market Day

The Waltham Farmers' Market will hold its third annual Spring Market Day on Saturday, May 7, in the Sovereign Bank parking lot in downtown Waltham.

Farm vendors will be selling plants and early crops. There will also be cheese, eggs, specialty prepared foods, baked goods and crafts. WIC coupons are accepted by participating farmers. Senior citizens receive a 10 percent discount at participating vendors. The market is held rain or shine, and will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Sovereign Bank parking lot is wheelchair-accessible, and is located at the intersection of Main and Moody, opposite the Waltham Common. The lot can be reached by car from Main Street or Charles Street.

The Waltham Farmers' Market is run by a group of Waltham activists who have been volunteering their time to organize the market since 1991. The group's goals include providing residents with healthy, affordable food; supporting local agriculture; and creating a community gathering-place in downtown Waltham. The regular season begins June 11.
