School of Fashion Design

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. Our reputation for excellence is on display each time our students show their work at fashion shows and exhibits throughout the year. With an SFD Certificate in Fashion Design, our alumni have enjoyed fashion careers with Adidas, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, New Balance, PUMA, Ralph Lauren, Talbots, Timberland, TJX Companies, and more. Our alumni are designers and costumers for stage and screen, while others have found success launching their own label. Our varied class levels and flexible schedules are designed to meet the needs and profiles of all students. K-12 summer soccer camps in Wayland, Wilmington, Tewksbury, and Belmont MA. Features: Sportsmanship: Our camp culture prizes sportsmanship, highlighted by our daily sportsperson awards and weekly CSS Cup. Skill Development: Ball control, possession, finishing, team tactical training, and multi-themed camps. Campers receive evaluations weekly, and parents receive daily photos and updates of training. The Waltham Arts Council is prehaps best known for its series of Free Summer Concerts on Waltham Common.    For the past 30 years the Waltham Arts Council has sponsored a wide variety of talent and entertainment.  This very popular production was originally produced by the Late Steve Kilgore.  Bring your blankets and chairs and join us for a delightful evening of music in the outdoors. All concerts start at 7:00 pm. In case of rain, concerts will be rescheduled as indicated above. Refreshments such as hot dogs, coffee, soft drinks, popcorn, pastry and pizza will be available for sale during the concerts. If you have a question regarding a concert being cancelled please call 781.893.2787.
