IEP and School-Wide Strategies to Prevent Bullying of Students with Disabilities
Learn about the Massachusetts state law requiring school-wide efforts to create safe and supportive schools. Parents, professionals, and teens with disabilities will learn specific legal requirements that will assist them in advocating for educational services to meet the needs of students related to bullying. The bill also requires IEP teams to address skills and proficiencies needed to avoid and respond to bullying as it impacts individual students with social skills development or when the student’s disability makes him or her vulnerable to bullying, harassment, or teasing. If you have questions about ways to address bullying in your child’s IEP to complement these efforts, this workshop is for you.
