Marlborough fire responded to the south side neighborhood, according to posts on the Waltham Fire Department’s page, and came upon fire showing from the second floor rear porch of a large, three-story wood framed home.
Companies quickly battled the flames on the exterior, but it had extended inside from the second floor up to the third floor. Cutting a hole in the roof to let the smoke and fire vent, they stretched several hoses and knocked down the bulk within an hour.
