Fisticuffs On Linden Street In Waltham: Reader Video
Two women threw punches across from the district courthouse in broad daylight. Experts say it highlights holiday stress.

WALTHAM, MA — This time of year blogs and the internet are full of how-to articles on how to avoid or mitigate family conflicts and how to de-stress (set the tone, don't over react, breathe deep).
A 2015 survey conducted by Healthline, a consumer health website found that 62 percent of respondents described their stress level during the holidays as “very or somewhat” elevated. Only 10 percent reported no stress during the season. Finances and family issues tend to be exacerbated, say experts.
And it sometimes leads to fisticuffs.

Monday a Patch reader caught this video of two women throwing punches in the parking lot across from the Waltham District Courthouse on Linden Street. It's not clear what the fight was about from the video but it's a reminder of holiday tensions.
A quick look at the Police logs don't show any activity on Linden Street that day. The images show a younger woman throwing fists and then it cuts to the older woman being helped up off the ground by a man. As soon as she's up the woman makes a bee-line for a nearby car where you can see her attempting to pull the younger woman out by her leg.

Two men appear to sort of break it up.
Waltham Police told Patch Wednesday that during the holidays there is sometimes a small uptick in calls they receive related to domestics.
