Funeral Services Announced For Waltham Police Officer Paul Tracey
A memorial is also growing for Tracey at the police department, and officials have told the public the best way to donate to his family.
WALTHAM, MA — Waltham is continuing to band together to pay its respects to the late Paul Tracey, the Waltham police officer who was killed in a worksite crash last week.
Residents and others gathered on Thursday as a procession carried Tracey's body from the Medical Examiner's Officer to a local funeral home, and a memorial outside of the police department — temporarily moved inside due to weather — is continuing to grow.
The presence of the community has made an impact on those with the police department, particularly those who gathered for the procession.

Now, an online obituary has shared plans for Tracey's funeral services.
A Thursday service is scheduled for Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 920 Trapelo Rd., in Waltham, for those who wish to pay respects to the Tracey family. On Friday, family, friends and the law enforcement community are invited for a funeral mass and burial.
Additionally, donations may be made to the Paul Tracey Family Fund at the Cambridge Savings Bank, 40 Leonard Street, Belmont, Mass. If a branch is available locally, donations can be made there as well, according to law enforcement.
Roderick Jackson
According to an attorney representing the family of Roderick Jackson, the National Grid employee also killed in the crash, the family plans to seek civil action against Peter Simon, the man charged in the case.
"The man accused of killing Mr. Roderick Jackson and Officer Paul J. Tracey is a habitual offender who should have never been in the position to take the lives of these two beloved members of our community," attorney Thomas Flaws said, in a statement.
"The system failed these two innocent men and we intend to seek civil justice to the fullest to avenge Mr. Jackon’s tragic passing which we hope can bring some semblance of peace to the Jackson family in due time."
