Local Entrepreneur Bring Unique Resale Store that Recycles Sports and Fitness Equipment to Waltham
Local families now have a place that not only puts cash back into their pockets, but sells gently-used sports and fitness equipment for less.
A favorite with families, the new Play It Again Sports® in Waltham opens Thursday, October 1, at 108 River Street. The unique resale store buys and sells gently-used sports and fitness equipment—including football equipment, baseball gloves and bats, hockey gear, golf clubs, soccer, lacrosse equipment, motorized treadmills, elliptical and bikes, benches and weights, and more.
Play It Again Sports Waltham invites the local community to visit the new location on October 1 for a chance to win for promotions, giveaways and prizes including five $100 gift card giveaways.

“I’m thrilled to open my business in such a warm, welcoming, sports-oriented community like Waltham,” said Dan Pill, who owns the new Play It Again Sports store. “I’m sure everyone will love the breadth of new and used merchandise we provide. Playing college baseball at the American University Washington D.C., sports have long been a part of Dan’s life. Upon graduating college, Dan pursued a career in sales; however after 12 years he quit his job to go back to his roots and open a baseball training facility complete with batting cages and a pro shop. Dan sold that facility to open a second baseball training facility geared toward elite travel teams. While both facilities are still in existence, Dan eventually sold the second facility and sought a new opportunity in the retail side of sports—thus opening his Play It Again Sports in Waltham.

Unlike a typical consignment store, no appointment is necessary to sell sports and fitness equipment to Play It Again Sports. Plus, the store pays consumers on the spot for goods it purchases from them.
