Hilde Ricciato, Born in Germany, Lived Most of Her Life in Waltham

Ricciato died on Thursday. She was a secretary at the UMass Field Station on Beaver Street in Waltham.

Mrs. Hilde (Marnet) Ricciato, of Medfield, formerly of Waltham died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Thomas Upham House in Medfield.

Hilde was born in Ludwigshafen, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1947. She settled in Waltham where she lived for most of her life before moving to Medfield. Until her retirement Hilde worked as a secretary at the University of Massachusetts Field Station on Beaver Street in Waltham.

At home in Waltham Hilde took great pleasure caring for her home and had a talent for gardening and for cooking. She spent many happy summers at her cottage at Hamilton Beach in Wareham and after she retired enjoyed the winter months basking in the sunshine and lifestyle of Hawaii.

She leaves her children, Don Ricciato and his wife, Karen, of Medfield, Doris Ricks and her husband, Brian, of Coronado, California and Stephen Ricciato of Manchester, New Hampshire and her grandchildren, Daniel, James, Kerry and Alison Ricciato and Carson Kai Ricks.

Hilde was also the former wife of the late Angelo Ricciato and sister of the late Curt Marnet.

Family and friends will honor and remember Hilde’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, May 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 12 noon on Saturday when her funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
