Hingham Police Swear In New Officers Amid Coronavirus Emergency
Hingham police added four new officers this week as the department serves and protects residents amid the coronavirus pandemic.
HINGHAM, MA — At a time when police departments are stretched to the limit, and are among those on the front line of personal risk, there are those who are signing up to help their communities get through the coronavirus health emergency. Hingham police used social distancing in swearing in four of those seeking to protect and serve on Monday when Jake Handrahan, Kevin Duff, Max Goldstein and Christopher Meservey were sworn in as Hingham police officers.
Their oath of office was administered by Town Clerk Eileen McCracken via Zoom. It was the first time in Hingham the swearing in ceremony could not open to their families and the public. After taking their oath the officers sign the oath as the final part of the formal process.
