Husband-and-Wife Team Leaves Brewer's Tap & Table in Waltham

Matt and Nancy Sargent, who were behind the opening of the Moody Street eatery, are leaving to focus on their Phantom Dinner business.

WALTHAM, MA – The husband-and-wife team involved in the opening of Brewer's Tap & Table last fall is calling it quits, but the eatery will remain open. Matt and Nancy Sargent are leaving the restaurant to focus on their Phantom Dinner business.

The Sargents did not elaborate in a Facebook post Saturday about the abrupt departure, but said there was no ill will behind the decision.

"There's a story to be told, but it holds no villains, no major trauma or drama... rather it's a story of a husband and wife (a touch on the twilight side of life, though they refuse to show it) on a journey... a journey toward a 'golden goal,'" they wrote. "Each creative exercise takes them closer to that goal, and Brewer's Tap & Table was a massive and wonderful undertaking along the way."
