January Opening Likely for Waltham Steak House
Although the exact date Ruth's Chris will open is anybody's guess.
WALTHAM, MA – An incoming steak house chain found itself embroiled in Waltham restaurant politics over the summer when it beat out a local business for the city's remaining liquor license.
Some saw it as big business stomping out the little guy, others believed it would turn over the most profit for the Watch City.
But Ruth's Chris, the New Orleans-based chain at the center of the brouhaha, all but fell off the map. Now, it seems we've got a better picture of when it will put that license to use.

Wayne Brasco, chairman of the Licensing Department in Waltham, told Patch Friday he's heard Ruth's Chris plans to open Jan. 1 at 500 Totten Pond Rd. after initially projecting a Dec. 1 opening date. Meanwhile Waltham Newswatch reported Thursday that the steak house is eyeing a "late January opening."

Though an official date is still up in the air, it appears you'll at least be able to grab a juicy ribeye by February 1.
