The position was previously held by Tom Curtin, who died Dec. 2.

WALTHAM, MA – Joe Vizard resigned from the Waltham City Council Wednesday to apply for the vacant assistant city clerk job, multiple local outlets reported.
The position was previously held by Tom Curtin, who died Dec. 2. Curtin took the job as assistant city clerk after a storied career as a city councilor.
According to the Waltham News Tribune, the new assistant city clerk will be decided by the city council; a candidate must receive at least eight votes to get the job. If he is not voted in, Vizard may not return to his seat on the council.
