Joseph Richard 'Dick' Crowe, Waltham Resident, Dies at 86

Crowe died Monday, Feb. 3.

Mr. Joseph Richard 'Dick' Crowe, of Waltham, died on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 in Golden Living Nursing Home in Newton. He was 86.

Dick was born in Concord on March 28, 1927, the son of the late Frank and Fanny Crowe. After serving in the Navy, he began his career in the business world at Household Finance Company.

Dick met Marilyn O'Sullivan at Blessed Sacrament Church in Cambridge, and they were married in the church on July 11, 1959. Dick was a wonderful husband and the pair spent 54 happy years together. Both Marilyn and Dick were active as Eucharistic Ministers at their home parish, St. Mary's Church in Waltham, where they also helped with the collections.

Besides his wife, Marilyn (O'Sullivan) Crowe, he is survived by his sisters-in-law, Joan Neshe of Waltham and Joan O'Sullivan of Manchester, N.H., and also leaves six nieces and nephews and many beloved godchildren.

He was the brother-in-law of the late John F. Neshe Sr. and Robert H. O'Sullivan.

Family and friends will honor and remember Dick's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Route 20), Waltham, on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 4-7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to St. Mary's Church, 133 School St., Waltham, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
