Kids and Parents Fill Family Day Prospect Hill

Patriotic Prospect Hill Park Perfect for the 4th of July.

Fresh off a new design, the bottom of Prospect Hill was full ul for Family Day this Fourth of July.

There were kids n carriages, kids on shoulders, kids connected hand in hand that added up to a thousand, with cars lining the north side of Totten Pond Road, having spilled out of a side road circle after two city lots were crammed jammed with happy menagerie of munchkins and their smiling managers.

Three new rides make a happy half dozen kiddie amusements now present at the park, carefully collected by Mayor Jeanette McCarthy, who was on hand Saturday to welcome in the well managed mass of July Fourth families.

The park felt full, once again drenched in fun, like long ago, when this hillside was cut by stem christies and shushers. Even the new caterpillar ride, colorfully curving little ones around a bright shiny track in the back forty, brought back instant happy memories of a mini roller coaster once tucked into a corner of land later home to The Wallex mini golf.
Other new additions at Prospect Hill are a new grilling station sitting across from a sprawling picnic pavilion towering over a sea of picnic t

ables with plenty of room. A spray park brings showers and smiles like the zip line buzzing by in the new climbers joy of a playground.

Pickle ball and basketball also have a new home in a half court, with it all connected through sleek sidewalks winding through the reclaimed recreation location.

Plenty of staff were on hand to take in the jumping dogs with frisbees show involving members of the audience tossing the magic disk to athletic canines Chaos and Oreo.
Then came the event for animal lovers as the rocky terrain beside the lodge brought was packed in to see snakes and turtles and the like no place for the squeamish.
Many families enjoyed their picnic lunch at tables at the bottom of a manicured fenced in hill once packed with skiers and that certain kind of joy, certain kind of smile when people work hard like Tom Taylor and the Jaycees back in the day and the Mayor and Recreation Board presently.
