Lifelong Waltham Resident Robert Rizzo Dies at 68 After Long Battle With Cancer
Rizzo was a well-known pharmacist in the area.

Robert Rizzo of Waltham passed away peacefully early Friday morning April 17th, 2015 surrounded by his loving family in his home after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68.
Born on March 24, 1947 in Waltham; beloved son of the late Jerome and Rose M. (Lupo) Rizzo, Bob was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1965, Bob continued his education graduating from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He began his career as a pharmacist at the Red Cross Pharmacy on Moody Street in Waltham and eventually worked for almost every pharmacy in the Waltham area including Johnsons, Rogers, Bates and Bruce Pharmacies. For the majority of his pharmaceutical career Bob was employed at the Waltham Hospital for over 25 years until its closing and for the past 10 years at the Metro - West Medical Center Framingham Union Campus & Natick Leonard Morse Campus.
Bob was a member of the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association and a past member of the Waltham Lions Club.

Family was the most important aspect of Bob’s life, he cherished the moments spent with his wife and daughters. He was a passionate and diehard season ticket holder of the New England Patriots. Bob enjoyed gardening, tending to his yard but more importantly he had his most fun traveling to Foxwoods with his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan A. (Giardina) Rizzo, who he married on December 14, 1975 and spent 40 wonderful years. He is also survived by his loving daughters Christine M. Rizzo of West Roxbury, Dr. Jennifer L. Long and her husband John of Sacramento, California, and Andrea A. Rizzo and her fiance Mark Willis of Waltham, his cherished granddaughter Hannah Frances Long, and his devoted brother-in-law & sister-in-law Thomas and Franca Giardina, numerous dear cousins and friends.
