MA Lotto Ticket Sold In Waltham Nets NY Man $25K A Year For Life

WALTHAM, MA — A New York man will get a little extra spending money every year thanks to a recent win in a Massachusetts lottery game.

Robert Ayebale of Willsboro, New York, is the winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize in the multi-state Lucky for Life game after the first five numbers on his Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the drawing that took place on May 10, lottery officials said.

Ayebale, a private aid, stopped at a supermarket to buy popsicles for the person he works for and decided to also purchase a Lucky for Life ticket.

He purchased his winning ticket at Hannaford supermarket located at 55 Russell St. in Waltham. The store receives a $5,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.

Ayebale claimed his prize the day after the drawing at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $390,000 (before taxes), lottery officials said.

He plans on using his winnings to buy a house and help his community, according to a news release.
