Maggie Shealy Takes Home NCAA Sabre Championship For Brandeis
Maggie Shealy became the first woman in Brandeis history to win a national championship against Division I competition.

WALTHAM, MA — Brandeis now has a sabre national championship to the university's name thanks to graduate student Maggie Shealy.
Shealy became the first woman in Brandeis history to win a national championship against Division I competition when she won first place in the women's sabre competition at the 2024 NCAA Fencing Championships.
According to the school's athletics department, Shealy is the 27th individual national champion in school history and first in fencing.

She bests two Olympians in Tim Morehouse and Kristen Foellmer who both finished second in their respective years while at Brandeis.
Shealy also becomes just the second woman from a Divison III school to win a championship at the NCAA Fencing Championships.
