MassEnergize Announces Community Climate Leaders Conference

On April 3rd, 2024, the Massachusetts-based climate-action nonprofit MassEnergize will hold its first annual Community Climate Leaders Conference: CONNECT, ENGAGE, & ENERGIZE: Mobilizing Climate Action in Your Community, from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.

Anyone working to educate and motivate others to take climate action in their communities is encouraged to attend. This includes community organizers, municipal sustainability officers, and members of climate-focused organizations, as well as those looking to get more involved in climate issues.

The agenda includes presentations by Anne Therese Gennari, author of the Climate Optimist Handbook, and Dr. Sarah Das, Science Mom and Glaciologist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Boston Globe Reporter Sabrina Shankman will be moderating the panel, Starting Conversations & Inspiring Action: Building the Climate Movement. These three prominent women will be joined by over 20 community climate leaders and presenters who will share their expertise throughout the day on panels and in breakout sessions. The morning and afternoon breakout segments are titled “Personal Professional Development: Empowering you!” and “Tools for your Toolbox: Making your Organization More Effective.”

The MassEnergize conference is currently drawing attendees from over 30 Massachusetts towns and cities, as well as Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, and as far away as North Carolina, indicating the demand for this kind of gathering.

MassEnergize works with community organizers and local leaders in 25 communities across Massachusetts to scale household and community-level climate actions. We are excited about this opportunity to bring people together to learn from and inspire each other.
