McDevitt School Recommended as Site for New Waltham School
The School Committee recommended the McDevitt School site over two other options.

The Waltham School Committee recommended the site of the John W. McDevitt School as the best option for a new school.
After meeting with consultants, the committee at its Dec. 16 meeting, said it was the best because of its size, parking availability and proximity to fields, reports the Waltham News Tribune. The site was one of three considered and discussed.
The former Fitch School is considered too small and would face zoning issues, and Lowell Field also “presents a challenge because it is parkland.”
