I am running for councillor at large in The City of Waltham

Owner and operator of Leblanc mechanical, heating and air-conditioning for 30 years.

Do you have a family? If so, please tell us about them.

My wife, Tiffany , twin 17-year-old daughters, Ava and Nina and 11-year-old son Oscar.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

Just me.

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

Former member of the CPC committee, and former chairman of the I&I committee.

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I have a deep love for the City of Waltham and all it has to offer. I bring 30 years of construction and business experience to the City Council and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Affordable housing is one of the big ones, we need to keep working on and approving projects like the Leland Home which 100 percent of the 63 units will be affordable and have a preference for Waltham residents first.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I work in the entire city with all walks of life, I bring people together I do not divide people. I bring a work ethic that is hard to match. I love doing community events that bring the city together, like the 135th Waltham anniversary parade and being co-creator of the annual Moody Street Car Show. In the future intend to help work on hosting the Special Olympics in Waltham. Also bringing back an old school track and field day.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

I am running to maintain one of the six councillor at large seats.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Working on traffic issues in our city and continue implementing adaptive light signals (like Waze, the light timing adjusts for better traffic flow) this will improve the efficiency of our intersections.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My 30 years of business and construction experience, managing multiple projects and multiple employees all at the same time while doing the payroll, estimating, billing and finances has prepared me for this. While not forgetting I’m a husband and a dad. I also keep compassion for my employees. Many years of coaching Waltham youth hockey has fueled me to be the best version of me I can be!!

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Among everything else with consistency and dependability you will succeed.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I have completed two Boston Marathons and three Olympic triathlons. I love Waltham’s open space and served on the rail trail design committee.
Ps: I cannot wait for it to open.
