Memorial Day in Waltham: Schedule of Veterans' Programs

Here's a look at the veterans' programs leading up to Memorial Day on Monday, May 29.

WALTHAM, MA – Memorial Day is approaching, and for the next two weeks Waltham will be holding a number of veterans' programs in anticipation of Monday, May 29. Here's a look at the full list of programs, via the City of Waltham.

May 15-19

Placing of the flags at cemeteries. Anyone interested in volunteering should meet at the Mt. Feake Cemetery, by the office, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. If inclement weather, please call 781-314-3415. Boy Scouts at Mt. Feake 3 p.m.

May 16

Placing of the flags at Calvary Cemetery. Volunteers from the Raytheon Group at 12 p.m. at the office (High Street). Students from St. Jude's place flags at 2:30 p.m.

May 20

Veterans' Square dedication for Navy Seal BM1 Brian Ouellette at Elm and Carter streets, 11 a.m.

May 22

Stanley Elementary students placing of the flags at Beth Israel Memorial Park, 10 a.m.

May 25

Henry Whittemore School children will place flags at Calvary Cemetery, 10 a.m.

May 26

Plympton School children will place flags at Mt. Feake Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.

May 27

National Guard veterans' and Boy Scouts' placing of the flags at Mt. Feake Cemetery lower lot at 9:45 a.m. Girl Scouts placing flags at 12 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery. Meet at the office.

May 28

John M. Sullivan Memorial Service will take place at 9 a.m. at the corner of Lincoln and Lake streets.

The Veterans' Memorial Church Service will take place at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish, 920 Trapelo Road, at 11 a.m.
