Waltham Power Outages: Power Slowly Returns

Eversource was scrambling Monday morning to restore power to some 300,000 across the state.

WALTHAM, MA — Power should be back for all of Waltham by 6 p.m. Tuesday. For some this means they'll have been without power for more than two days.

Monday evening the number of customers in Waltham without electricity had gone down to around 330 from a peak in the day of more than 550. By the time most people were commuting to work, more than 400 homes are without power in Waltham according to Eversource.

It was around noon when some 562 were without power. Winds were expected to continue gusting around 30 miles per hour, making it tricky for the company to repair the downed lines. This comes as some 300,000 across the state were also reportedly without power. Nstar noted on its website it expected it could take as much as 72 hours before some residents in the state saw power again.
