Obituary: Wanda Romaniak, of Waltham

Miss Wanda Romaniak, of Waltham, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Wingate at Brighton. She was 88.

Wanda was born in New Bedford on Jan. 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Dyonizy and Maryanna (Wojtowicz) Romaniak, and had been a Waltham resident since 1962. Until her retirement, Wanda worked as a secretary for 35 years in the engineering department of the Raytheon Company.

She leaves her sisters, Helen Peltier of Weston and Alice LaFountain of Waltham, and many nieces and nephews.

Wanda was also a sister of the late Chester and Longin Romaniak.

Family and friends will honor and remember Wanda’s life by gathering to visit at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, Dec. 27, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Route 20), Waltham, before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
