Oh Bug, Mosquito Spraying Starts This Week

Don’t be alarmed; be thankful.

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project beings controlling mosquitoes using truck-mounted aerosol sprayers in neighborhoods of Waltham on Wednesday, June 17, between dusk and 11:30 p.m., according to an announcement.

Areas to be sprayed are located near Bacon St. between Plympton St. and Curve St., areas off Forest St. in the vicinity of Pigeon La., Doty St. and Temple Rd. and areas near Beaver St. If spraying is postponed, it will be rescheduled for Thursday, June 18.

The Project uses a spray formulation containing the pesticide, sumithrin, to control mosquitoes.
