UPDATED: Two Dead in Early Morning House Fire in Waltham

A second individual received serious injuries. A firefighter was also reported to be injured.

Two people are dead following an early morning fire in Waltham Monday.

The two alarm fire started just before 2 a.m. Monday morning in a home at 67 Ash St. The fire quickly spread to multiple alarms.

When crews arrived there was heavy fire on the second floor and attic of the home.

Crews found one of the victims was found at the top of the stairs inside the home and firefighters were able to get that person out of the burning home, Fox 25 is reporting. The second victim, who died from injuries, was upstairs in the home, according to Fox 25. The first victim is said to have serious injuries. Just after 7 a.m., it was reported the second victim also died.

The names of the victims have not been released.

A firefighter was also reported to be injured battling that fire. Crews told Fox 25 that the large snow banks due to the unprecedented snow the area has received made fighting the fire difficult.

As of 6 a.m., the fire has been knocked down, but crews are still working that scene.
