Watch City Brewing Co., at the corner of Moody and Pine streets, closed last month after a 20-year run.

Shortly after the brewery closed, owner Jocelyn Hughes posted this explanation on the Facebook group, Society of Social Imbibers of the Watch City Brewing Company. In her post, Hughes cited an ongoing dispute with the state Department of Revenue, as well as an issue with the brewery’s HVAC system, as reasons for the closure. At the time, Hughes had been hoping to re-open the brewery.
